It’s not often that you find a Best Western with a 5-star traveler rating. However, that is the case with the Best Western Zoder’s Inn (now called “Zoder’s Inn & Suites“). This is a secluded six-acre property that is still within walking distance to downtown. What guests appreciate most are the balconies that overlook a mountain stream. Another popular feature is the indoor pool, which has a waterfall and hot tub. If you prefer an outdoor pool, that is also an option. In addition to that, adults can enjoy a wine and cheese hour and kids can enjoy a milk and cookies hour. Other amenities include free WiFi, an exercise room and a racquetball court. The latter requires a fee. Every room comes with a mini-fridge and microwave.

Most guests who stay at the BlackBear Gatlinburg fall in love with two things – the pool and breakfast. The pool and hot tub are impeccably clean and always kept at perfect temperatures. The breakfast has many options, including sausage links, biscuits and gravy, hash browns, waffles and fresh fruit. Just like the Best Western Zoder’s Inn, every room comes with a mini-fridge and microwave. An added advantage to staying at the Clarion Inn & Suites is that you will only be a few hundred yards away from Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

If you want to stay right on the strip, this should be your first choice. The only negative is a little noise, but this is Gatlinburg, not Manhattan. The noise is not annoying unless you’re extremely sensitive to it. A big advantage to staying at the Quality Inn Creekside is that you never have to take your car anywhere. You will be within walking distance to Ripley’s Haunted Adventure, Hollywood Wax Museum, Mysterious Mansion and Gatlinburg Space Needle. The rooms and bathrooms at this hotel are large and some of them come with a fireplace and Jacuzzi. Every room has a balcony. This is also a popular choice for local wedding receptions, which gives you an idea about its reputation.

Gatlinburg is a hidden city in the middle of the Smoky Mountains. It’s perfect for kids between the ages of 5 and 12. If your kids ever get bored – which is highly unlikely – you can take a 10-minute drive to Pigeon Forge, which offers just as many attractions. Regardless of where you choose to go, be sure to stay at one of the above hotels.
